I appreciate you and your crew. You've built our dream home with superb craftsmanship, engineering and honest business dealings during a pandemic. Y'all have earned every penny. I feel like I got a great deal. We are very happy.

We are both so very thankful and blessed to have had you and your amazing men do this renovation. There are not enough words or praises for the quality of workmanship, unity of men and high standards of morals they present as they work together. We miss seeing them and their smiling faces!

J. F. Smith Contractors is in the process of building our cottage in Matlacha. My full time residence is in Georgia, so I have left much of the autonomy to Joe and have been pleased with his decision making and dedication to our cottage. When deciding on a contractor, Joe made it easy. He was the only one who listened to my desires and explained all possible options and obstacles that could lie ahead. Joe has a special ability to visualize ideas and communicate them clearly. His suggestions, both large and small, have helped shape our cottage into a quaint, airy space that my family will enjoy for years. He and his staff have consistently shown a high level of responsiveness and respect throughout the entire process. Joe Smith is one of the best builders I have ever worked with in my 35 year career in construction. His knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to quality is unmatched. But the best thing I could say about him and his company is... I trust him. He will always do the right thing... even if no one will ever know. I think this used to be called integrity.

We are very thankful that Joe Smith is building our house. He is a perfectionist and at the same time professional, patient and persistent; all things we value in a contractor. With 30 years of experience in Lee County, he has developed great relations with his subcontractors and they do whatever is needed to produce a quality home.

We restored two old beach cottages on Captiva. We are from Missouri so though we've done work here, we were completely out of our element in South Florida.

We relied on Joe for everything: the permitting, identifying and directing the subs, scheduling the whole thing on a tight time frame without a detailed plan. We had some unique elements we wanted to incorporate and Joe found a way to work them in beautifully. The people he brought to us were first rate, and they all came through for him and us! We even followed his recommendations in the selection of our appliance dealer, counter tops, etc. We are so proud of our project and feel that the investment and decisions that we made were the right ones with Joe's help and leadership every step of the way!! Not sure how he really did it, but every guest we have had to the cottages have been impressed by the quality and thoughtfulness behind every detail. We are so grateful to Joe and the quality craftsmen who were the key to our success. Five Stars!

My wife and I have worked with the J. F. Smith Company for several years in the remodeling of two houses which we own in Captiva and Sanibel. We have always found the company to be professional in its dealings. Their construction work is high quality, and we have always been satisfied with the final product. They are responsive to requests and pleasant to work with. When confronted with a problem, they tend to come up with appropriate solutions. We have found their budgets to be reasonable and have not encountered any “surprises” in this regard.

Joe Smith built a house for us on Pine Island in 2016. Joe is a homeowner’s dream builder. He knows Florida design and construction inside and out. He leads you to the best suppliers of materials and equipment for your budget. The sub-contractors he uses are ALL superb. He has worked with them for years. All are VERY owner sympathetic to get it right. And all will go the extra mile before, during and after construction to make sure the owner is 100% satisfied.

Joe is very budget conscious….no promises are made which he can’t keep. He works well with architects and owners to assess multiple design/cost options. Importantly, communication is direct and timely. Joe is a person of high integrity you can count on.
